Patriots Cornerback Christian Gonzalez continues to earn more respect in the competition as one of the best defensive backs in the NFL.

The 23-year-old cornerback was number 84 in general in the annual top 100 players of the NFL-with Gonzalez who may be the only player in New England who earned a place on the list.

The annual rankings are compiled based on polling from NFL players – with a few established talents who give Gonzalez his flowers during the video package of the NFL.

“His slippery and the ability to go downhill on breaks, it seems that, even if he may not have a step, his final speed is the next level,” said Ravens Cornerback Marlon Humphrey about Gonzalez.

Despite the fact that he received some recognition from his colleagues, it can be made that Gonzalez should have been ranked even higher after he had settled himself as one of the top corners in the competition in 2024.

After having shown much promise as a Rookie in 2023 before he had sustained a seasonal shoulder injury, Gonzalez was one of the few clear spots in the Patriots selection of 2024.

The no. 17 Pick in the NFL concept of 2023 closed last season with 59 total tackles, two interceptions, 11 Pass exhibitions and one messy recovery in 16 games. For his efforts he was voted for the All-Pro second team.

Gonzalez is expected to be one of the leaders on a renewed Patriots defense under Mike Vrabel in 2025, with the Oregon product to work with Free-Agent Pick-up Carlton Davis as the two starting corners of the team.

“Hopefully we can just play cat coverings -” You have this cat, I have this cat. And we can work, “said Vrabel in March Gonzalez and Davis as a tandem. “I would say what I appreciate looking at CD is that they might catch a ball on him, but he just comes up again and he competes and he challenges.
