A woman, together with her lover, would have killed her husband and thrown away his body almost 30 kilometers away in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district. The police said that the accused, Sumangala, threw chili powder into her husband, identified as Shankaramurthy (50), hit him with a wooden stick and then killed him by pressing his neck against his neck on 24 June.
Sumangala, who worked as a cook in Kalpataru College Girls’ hostel in TipTur, is accused of conspiracy with her loved one, Nagaraju, a resident of the village of Karadalusante, to commit the crime after Shankaramurthy had objected to their relationship. Both Sumangala and Nagaraju had an affair, the police said.
After the murder of Shankaramurthy, Sumangala and Nagaraju put his body in a jute bag and transported it about 30 kilometers away and threw it in a well -located in a plantation.
The crime came to light after Shankaramurthy was reported missing. Nonavinakere Police, who initially registered a missing complaint, became suspicious during their investigation after discovering Chile powder stains and signs of a struggle of the victim’s bedding in his farm.
After an analysis of Sumangala’s call detail information, the police dug up the horrible plot. The police confirmed her involvement and said that the murder was performed after her husband felt they were in the way of their relationship.
The police registered a case and further investigated the case.
