Moskow/Kyiv-Russia and Ukraine blamed each other on Sunday to break a one-day Easter style place by President Vladimir Putin, in which each party accused the other of hundreds of attacks and the Kremlin said there was no order for a strike-offspring.
Putin, who sent thousands of Russian troops to Ukraine in February 2022, ordered his troops to all military activities along the front line in the three -year war Moscow Time on Sunday until midnight.
Tass News Agency quoted Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov and said that there was no order of Putin to strike -the fire.
In Washington, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it would welcome an extension.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, said that in the coming days the actions of Moscow “will reveal the true attitude of Russia towards American peace efforts” and a proposed 30-day cease-fire.
The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zenskyy said Russia pretended to be stopping -the Easter’s fires observed, but had performed hundreds of artillery attacks on Saturday evening and more on Sunday.
Russia launched 67 attacks from midnight to 8 p.m. local time, wrote Zenskyy on X.
“Or Putin has no complete control over his army, or the situation proves that they are not going in Russia to take a real step towards the end of the war and are only interested in favorable PR coverage,” Zenskyy posted.
“However, there were no air striking warnings today. That is why this is a format of cease -the fires that has been achieved and that is easiest to expand,” he said, and suggested that Russia leaves drone and rocket attacks on civilian goals for at least 30 days.
If Russia does not agree, it is proof that it intends to continue to do only those things that destroy human lives and extend the war, Zenskyy added.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that Ukraine had broken it -the fires broken more than 1000 times, causing the infrastructure to be damaged and caused civil deaths.
The apparent failure to even observe a cease -fires in Easter shows how difficult it will be for the American president Donald Trump To conquer a permanent peace agreement. The president still hit an optimistic note on Sunday and said that “hopefully” the two parties would close a deal “this week” to end the conflict.
On Friday, Trump and his State Secretary, Marco Rubio, said the US would run away from peace efforts, unless there will soon be clear signs of progress.
