The Nigeria Premier Football League season 2024/25 ended with Remo stars who lifted their very first league title. But for Enugu Rangers -fans it was a season of heartache and unanswered questions. After they had started strong, Rangers fell apart halfway and they were not eligible for continental competitions – a shocking result for last season’s champions.

One of the most pronounced fans is Emmanuel Okeke, popularly known as Jesus Hooductions. Speaking on PrimeSport 104.9 FM Enugu, Okeke openly suggested that some competitions, especially the loss for Heartland FC, seemed suspicious.

“Four days before that match, Heartland fans called me and said they would beat Rangers 2-0. They claimed that there was a schedule. I was shocked when that exact score took place. The goals were magical. It looked like a fixed game,” said Okeke Bitter.

Okeke, known for his deep passion for Rangers, said the loss made him reduce his support. “I gave up traveling to travel to America to see Rangers play, that’s how much I love this club. But after that Heartland match I was deeply sad. Someone has to come out and tell us what really happened,” he added.

He criticized the club’s management for a bad handling of players’ well -being, and said that many players could not even pay rent or eat well, which killed their motivation. But he didn’t spare the players either: “Even if you are not paid properly, play your heart and sell yourself. If you are lazy, you don’t want a big club.”

Okeke called for a total overhaul of the club. He insisted on stopping playing for the team at the Rangers general director and concentrating on solving the many problems. “The GM must go alone. The task of saving Rangers is too big. He has to be in the VIP and manage the club well,” he said.

Okeke also regretted the poor treatment of players on road travel and said that they were housed in terrible hotels and had packed three in a room only because it was near the stadium. He compared the situation with what happens at successful clubs such as Remo Stars, who praised their trophy tour and management.

The Die-Hard fan appealed to the Governor of the State Enugu to take Rangers more seriously, and emphasized that football is a serious matters that could produce millions of dollars in income through continental matches.

“Rangers is all for us. This club gives us joy. The players are hungry, the buses are bad, the management is bad. We beg the governor – don’t let Rangers die,” begged Okeke.

Fans now demand that Rangers officials are confronted with supporters and explain what went wrong during the season. Many believe that only transparency and a new start can help to reduce the Glory Days of Enugu Rangers.
