India’s Advanced Artillery Gun System Exemplary Mission Mode Success: Defense Ministry

In accordance with the steps to modernize the artillery regiments of the army and improve the operational preparation, native advanced advanced artillery weapon systems (ATAGs) will replace the Vintage and smaller Kaliberber cannons, with the Ministry of Defense on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) the project a “exemplary mission”.

ATAGS was designed by Armament Research and Development Establishment (Arde), Pune, a laboratory of the Defense Research & Development Organization (DRDO).

Earlier on March 26, the Ministry of Defense had signed contracts with Bharat Forge Limited and TATA Advanced System Limited for purchasing 155 mm/52 Kaliber Advanced Artillery -Pistool systems (ATAGS) and High mobility vehicle 6×6 guns with respective.

The 155 mm/52 caliber ATAGs will replace the vintage and smaller caliber guns and improve the artillery possibilities of the Indian army.

The timeline for delivery of 307 ATAGs is expected to be five years old, Mr. Raju said.

The ministry in his message said: “Atags, @drdo_india’s flagship artillery system, leads the #Indianarmy’s Artillery Modernization,” an example of an example of mission mode. ”

“It brings #drdo, the Indian army and both public and private sectors to strengthen #aatmanirbharat in defense.
