Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is likely to raise the issue of rising air rates, especially during the Peak Tourism season, with the central government, says sources. He is expected to write to the Ministry of Civil Aviation to penetrate for more affordable air travel options during a lot of application, because rising ticket prices reportedly influence the tourism economy of Goa despite steady growth.

According to sources, the Chief Minister is concerned that domestic air rates for Goa during peak seasons are sometimes higher than international airline tickets, which deteriorate travelers with an average income and reduce the overall tourist inflow. He will soon write a letter to the central ministry and ask for measures to make air travel to Goa more economic, especially during holiday and festival seasons when demand rises.

Despite these challenges, the tourism sector of Goa has shown encouraging signs of recovery and expansion. Even during the running low season and the rainy months, hotels in the entire state are bustling with guests. The current occupancy levels at different hotels have been reported between 80 and 90 percent, a strong indicator of the tourist attraction of Goa.

Statistical comparisons also support this positive trend. Between May last year and May this year, Goa saw an increase of 7 percent in domestic tourist appointments. In the meantime, the foreign tourist footstep rose in the same period by an impressive 47.55 percent. In general, the total number of tourists who visited the state grew by 8.65 percent compared to last year’s data.

The state government has also taken various proactive steps to streamline and stimulate tourism. All villas in the state are now registered via a simplified single-window system, which only requires five clearance. The process is integrated with the official government website to ensure convenience of access and transparency for owners of real estate and tourists.

Women’s safety remains a priority for the GOA government. A special “Pink Force” unit, consisting of female officers in pink uniforms, has been used to help female tourists. Allegedly this reaction team arrives within five minutes after an emergency call and provides fast and reassuring help to female travelers.

To maintain the environmental balance and to protect the natural resources of the state, Goa has also introduced limitations on tourists who bring camping equipment and cooking equipment from other states. Such travelers are stopped at the border and are refused access if they do not comply with the state standards. This step has been taken to regulate camping activities without supervision that often lead to waste mismanagement.

On the front of waste management, the Goa government has assigned 400 crore for extensive waste treatment and removal systems, aimed at maintaining the ecological integrity of the state in the midst of the tourism tree.

Moreover, all dance bars in Goa are prohibited. The state currently has six offshore casinos and various others who are active within five -star hotels. However, only mechanized gaming is permitted in these facilities to guarantee compliance with regulations and to maintain a controlled tourist environment.

There are also efforts to promote tourism through advanced technologies. The state wants to use modern digital tools, including artificial intelligence, to improve its tourism offer and to guarantee a safer, cleaner and more efficient travel experience for visitors from all over the world.
