A judge in Hawaii has denied bail to a doctor who reportedly tried to kill his wife while the two walked on a Honolulupad in March.

The anesthesiologist, the 46-year-old Dr. Gerhardt Konig, was accused of attempting a second -degree murder after they were reportedly tried to kill his wife on March 24 while they were walking on Oahu’s Pali Lookout Trail. His bail was previously set at $ 5 million.

Konig has argued not guilty of the charge for murder.

The lawyers of Konig have argued in a motion that bail must be set on a “reasonable amount”, since the defendant has no previous criminal history. Prosecutors resist the request for bail and said that Konig is ‘confronted with a realistic prospect of life sentence’ and noted that he was trying to flee the area after the alleged attack.

Public Prosecutors also wrote in the court who registered that his adult son was said to have called after the attack and told him that he “tried to kill your stepmother.”

Judge Paul Wong denied the motion for bail and said that Konig tried to hide evidence from the police and is a serious escape risk. Wong also said that Konig is a danger for his wife.

Judicial documents that were previously obtained by Fox News Digital State that Konig’s wife told the police that her husband was “close to the edge and asked her to make a selfie with him.” The wife of Konig refused and told the police that she did not feel comfortable “a photo with him to take him so close to the edge” and “started to walk back.”

When Konig’s wife started walking back, Konig began to scream and allegedly pushed her into nearby bushes. After she was away from Konig, he was said to have picked up a rock and hit the head about 10 times while she also grabbed the back of her hair and her face, “said a statement.

Konig’s wife started screaming for help and tried to crawl to two other walkers. Konig then removed two syringes from his back and tried to “use on her,” said the explanation.

A walker who was identified as “Amanda” in judicial documents, the police told that she found her wife on top and hit her with a rock.

“He tries to kill me,” said Konig’s wife, according to prosecutors.

A person mentioned in judicial documents as “Sarah”, called 911 and helped Amanda helping Konig’s wife to a separate area while Konig fled the stage.

After a “short -footed chase”, the police arrested Konig near Pali Highway. After his arrest, Konig said according to public prosecutors: “Wait, she’s not dead?”

In a court application on Monday, public prosecutors accused Konig of storing needles, spraying and vials with the Anesthesion Medication label. The prosecutors said that Konig’s wife thought her husband thought that bottles and spraying contained, so that the Maui police sent the items to the Honolulu police.

During Tuesday’s hearing, Konig’s lawyer, Thomas Otake, said it is not unusual for doctors to have such drugs at home.

“That is not unusual for a doctor who practices drugs would have drugs,” said Otake.

Otake asked for bail between $ 100,000 and $ 200,000 before the judge refused his request.

A Maui Health representative previously told FOX News Digital that was suspended from his work as an independent contractor at Maui Memorial Medical Center.

“Dr. Konig is employed by an independent entity that is contracted to provide medical services for various medical facilities in Maui, including Maui Memorial Medical Center,” the spokesperson said. “Dr. Konig’s medical personnel privileges in the Maui Memorial Medical Center are suspended pending research. Maui Health takes this concerns and safety of patients very seriously and will collaborate with authorities.”
