Forest fires burn through central Canada forcing more people to evacuate – Boston News, Weather, Sports | WHDH 7News

Flin Flon, Manitoba (AP) – About 17,000 inhabitants in the Canadian province Manitoba have been evacuated because of almost two dozen active forest firessaid civil servants on Saturday.

More than 5,000 of them are of FlinWhere there is no rain in the immediate prediction. There are no structural fires in the city, almost 645 kilometers (400 miles) northwest of the provincial capital of Winnipeg from Saturday morning, but officials are concerned that a change in wind direction could bring the fire to the city.

Evacuation centers are open in the province for those who flee the fires, including a south as Winkler, Manitoba, 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the American border.

Evacuations that started earlier in the week for Pimicikamak Cree Nation came up on Saturday, when five flights were expected to bring residents to Winnipeg. “The nature fire has crossed the main road and the area remains filled with smoke and ashes,” wrote Chief David Monas on social media.

Winnipeg has opened public buildings for Evacués, because it is concerned with hotels that are already cramming with other combustion refugees, holidaymakers, business people and conference visitors.
