A new Covid variant behind an increase in hospital admissions in China has been detected in the US.
The latest CDC data shows that the new NB.1.8.1 -Stam has been detected among international travelers who arrive California, Washington State, Virginia and New York City.
The patients came from nine countries – China, Japan, Vietnam, Zuid -Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, France, the Netherlands and Spain – between April 22 and May 12.
The variant is also detected in Hawaii, Rhode Island and Ohio.
There is some alarm about the new variant that is potentially more contagious than the current dominant tribes.
In China, data shows that the share of seriously ill breathing patients with COVID has risen from 3.3 to 6.3 percent last month.
The Chinese proportion of patients who tested positive for COVID had risen from 7.5 to 16.2 percent.
Civil servants in Taiwan also report an increase in COVID allowance to the first aid, in which the number of 78 percent rises in a week during the seven days to 3 May, according to the latest available data.
And hospital admissions have risen to a highest highest point in Hong Kong of 12 months, which is thought to be powered by the new variant. Civil servants tell people to mask.

The variant has been circulating in the US since the end of March.
But there is no sign of a large increase in cases – with the positivity percentage of cotton buds that detect the virus that 12 percent falls in the last week data is available.
The data that will show up the upcoming cases of the voltage in the US, were unveiled by the Airport Testing Partner Ginkgo Biows of the CDC and reported by CBS News.
In this program, travelers can do volunteer work on selected airports to collect two nasal cotton buds and to complete a short survey.
These cotton buds are then tested for various care diseases, including Covid.
The travelers behind the cases of the new variant were tested between April 22 and May 12.
Experts stick closely with the new variant, which is already dominant in China and increases parts of Asia.
In Taiwan there were 19,097 visits last week for Covid, the newest available – and the NB.1.8.1 variant has become dominant in the country.
Early research from China suggests that the NB.1.8.1 variant is better in binding to human cells, making it more infectious.

In a message from Hong Kong that was released last week, civil servants once again encouraged people to wear face masks in public places if they were at high risk due to an infection.
And they insisted on the public to wear a face mask while traveling on public transport or staying in busy areas.
The FDA held a meeting on Thursday about updating the Covid vaccines, where the tension arose several times.
The latest vaccines are currently focused on the JN.1 variant and are descendants. Data currently suggests that the LP.8.1 variant is dominant in the US – which is a descendant of JN.1.
During the meeting, CDC and FDA officials told the panel that only considerably one strain – called XFC – in the US grows considerably.
