Director argues guilty of Cowra Minibus Crashdelicts who have led to the death of 84YO

A driver who had crashed against a courteous minibus, thrown an older man from the vehicle guilty of dangerous driving with death.

Scott Death, 34, appeared on Friday via a Videolink in the Orange District Court, where he pleaded guilty of a series of charges with regard to the fatal crash in the night of December 16, 2023.

The police claimed that the man was returning at the speed of a driveway in the NSW Central West Town or Cowra and a Cowra Bowling Club hit the bus with thanks.

Raymond Padgett, 84, was thrown out of the vehicle and died.

The bus driver and four other passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Cowra hospital for treatment.

Death, which appeared via AVL from Wellington Correctional Center, was visibly upset and argued guilty of dangerous driving and five counts to cause physical injury due to misconduct.

The court heard that the crown and the defense did not yet have to reach an agreement on the facts of the incident.

“It is essentially about the level of intoxication and the level of limitations, and how that influenced his level of driving,” Paula Pollock officer told the court.

Death will be convicted on July 28.
