Deserves contempt: India rejects Pakistan’s claim and links it to the Waziristan attack

India rejected Pakistan’s attempt on Saturday to blame it for a fatal suicide attack in North Waziristan, where 13 Pakistani soldiers were killed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) condemned the accusation and said: “We have seen an official statement from the Pakistani army that wants to blame India for the attack in Waziristan on 28 June. We reject this statement with the contempt it deserves.”

The attack marks another example of escalating violence in the tribal regions of Pakistan. Since the return of the Taliban to power in Afghanistan in 2021, Pakistan has witnessed a sharp increase in attacks in his border areas. Islamabad has often accused the Afghan Taliban of protecting militants responsible for these cross -border attacks, denies a Kabul statement.

According to the AFP news agency, around 290 people, mainly security forces, have lost their lives in attacks by anti-governmental groups in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan so far this year.
