There is something strange among the Rushers of the Vikings, but a second -year -old jumping – not a malaise – of Dallas Turner would probably lead to a world where few notice.
The position is led by a few Pro Bowl veterans in Jonathan Greenard and Andrew van Ginkel. Both have proven to be excellent players and there is very little reason to believe that their excellence will stop in 2025. What is strange is that four of the seven edge of the team are UDFA players. Turner is the bridge between the two extremes – the established veterinarians and unproven UDFAs – between the Edge Rushers.

In March the Vikings chose to do it Give Turner a promotion.
No, there was no official announcement, but there was a willingness to let Patrick Jones II leave in a free agency (which charged the compensatory picks formula). So Kwesi Adofo-Mensah also chose to sign an established veteran to function as an important depth time.
Furthermore, contributing to the idea that Turner will see an increased role is the fundamental fact that Jihad Ward will not remain signed. In other words, the Edge3 (Jones) and Edge4 (Ward) from 2024 were no important priority to stay. Why not?
The plan is quite clear that Dallas Turner can rise to Edge3.
Dallas Turner played in sixteen games like Rookie and earned 300 Snaps for the defense of Brian Flores. On the way, Turner 20 Tackles, 3 bags, 5 QB -Hits, 3 Tackles for loss, 1 interception and 1 pass defended. Not a huge earthquake, but he appeared on the Richter scale.
Kick his snaps out and triples them to reflect the chance that Greenard and Van Ginkel earned. Both all started seventeen games while they knew 900 snaps for coach Flores. What could Turner’s statistics look like?
If we accept a consistent output over 900 snaps, Turner would have ended his Rookie season with 60 tackles, 9 bags, 15 QB -Hits, 9 tackles for loss, 3 interpasses and 3 defenses. Those figures look quite different, right?
Football is of course more complicated than just multiplying snaps and then trust that statistics will perfectly replicate themselves. There is a possibility that it happens, but it is by no means a foregone conclusion.
Perhaps more Snaps would have led Dallas Turner to refined his craft, which improved his efficiency along the way when he improved his statistical efficiency. Or perhaps the raised snaps would have led to a worn defender when Dallas Turner struggled to wear the workload of an NFL-Level Pass Rusher over the 900 snaps, which deteriorated his efficiency. There could even be some kind of fighter jets of factors that all play at the same time.
Nevertheless, there is still the possibility to press that the title makes.
Losing both Jones and Ward drugs that grow a stack of Snaps for Flores. More specifically, the team had 926 defending Snaps walk out the door. No enormous addition has been made, revealing that Dallas Turner is seen as the successor of the deceased veterans, someone who is able to suck up many of those snaps.

Of course, Adofo-Mensah could always dive into his open cap-in-space at a touch of more than $ 23.5 million but the GM would make the young guy succeed earlier. Search for Mr. Turner to get every opportunity to become a weekly difference maker in 2025.
