It already tastes considerably worse, but there is perhaps an even greater reason not to drink immediate coffee.
Chinese researchers say they have found a connection between instant coffee and an eye disease that causes blurry or distorted central sight.
They discovered that those with a preference for instant coffee up to seven times more likely to develop the condition than drinkers of other species.
Known as age -related macular degeneration (AMD), sees the small, central part of the retina, and influences the ability of people to read, stimulate and recognize faces.
Researchers believe that the link can be due to the way in which immediate coffee is prepared, which is called a chemical that is called acrylamide, which can enter the bloodstream and damage the retina.
Dr. Qi Jia, an ophthalmologist who led the study, warned: ‘Instant coffee can increase the risk of age -related macular degeneration and reducing the intake can help prevent[it].
“People with a high risk of age -related macular degeneration must prevent immediate coffee.”
People who have a family history of the disease are overweight, smoke or high blood pressure all have a higher risk of condition.
Researchers have unveiled a potential link between immediate coffee and losses of vision
People with blue or green eyes are also at an increased risk because their eyes contain less pigment, which means that they can suffer more damage due to sunlight.
But the researchers warn that their study was observational and proves that immediate coffee causes AMD.
Previous studies have actually shown that coffee could Reduce the risk from AMD.
A study from 2023 with 67,000 adults to drink connected coffee with a thickening of nerve fibers in the eye, which protects the view.
However, the new study is one of the few who looks at different types of coffee.

The study used data about participants of the British Biobank and the Finngen Consortium, which follows genetic data about people in Great Britain and Finland.
The study did not look strictly whether someone drank direct coffee, it used a different methodology with genes.
There are indications that the genes of people decide which coffee they prefer, whether they prefer a bitter or smoother taste and whether they can easily tolerate caffeine.
After distributing participants through their genetic predisposition for drinking immediate, pumping stations or decaffeinated coffee, they then analyzed the AMD speeds.
The results showed that in the instant coffee group 692 percent were more likely to get the diagnosis of dry age-related macular degeneration-from which at the Macula, in the center of the eye and responsible for central eyesight, deteriorates over time.
They also said that they were 159 percent more likely to suffer from wet age-related macular degeneration-where abnormal blood vessels grow under the macula, which caused vision complications.
Decaf -Drinkers also turned out to be 80 percent more likely to dry AMD, although this difference was not significant.
Participants were only supposed to have developed AMD if it appeared after their 50th birthday and was diagnosed by a doctor.
AMD is a common condition in older adults, with about one in ten Americans aged 50 or older than the condition.
There is no cure for the condition, but doctors say that starting early treatment can help to delay its progress.
This can include taking supplements such as vitamins C, E and zinc, or drugs for wet AMD that can slow down the growth of blood vessels in the eyes.
Researchers emphasize that more work is needed to confirm the findings of the research.
In general, it included 7,600 participants who had a dry AMD and 5,900 that were wet.
It was published in the magazine Food science and nutrition.
