Aussie Cycling Star excluded from Tour de France with serious health status

The Australian cyclist Michael Matthews will not dispute the Tour de France because of a pulmonary embolism.

Matthews went to a Jayco Alula height training camp when team doctors discovered signs of health condition.

The Canberran immediately stopped all physical activity until further notice and is from the team of the team for the Tour de France, which will start next month.

Jayco Alula issued an explanation that the health of Matthews was stable.

Matthews would have been an important driver for Jayco Alula during the Tour.

He won four phases during the race and claimed the victory in the points classification in 2017.

At the beginning of last month, the 34-year-old achieved his first victory of the year on the one-day race of Eschborn-Frankfurt in Germany.

Matthews made his Olympic debut last year on the Paris Games, who participated in the road race.
