Manchester United has passed a miserable first season under the custody of Rubem Amorim and it seems that the Portuguese would like to have more changes behind the scenes at Old Trafford
Manchester United -boss Ruben Amorim has asked that his former trusted ally Acacio Valentim will be added to his staff as part of another coaching restructuring. The Portuguese head coach is determined to avoid a new sad campaign after a difficult first season at the helm.
After replacing Erik ten Hag after moving Sporting Lisbon, he led United to the 14th in the Premier League, while they were defeated in the Europa League final by Spurs. And for his second season with the club, Amorim has asked for some help behind the scenes.
According to Portuguese exhaust FileAmorim has made a personal request to United Chiefs to take a step for Acacio Valentim. The 49-year-old previously worked with his fellow countryman as a coach at former club Braga, with Amorim liked to reunited in Old Trafford.
His conversations are reportedly on the way during a move to the UK, where Valentim has left a free agent this summer. His relocation would be the latest redeers behind the scenes since Amorim’s arrival.
The former employees of Erik ten Hag, including Ruud van Nistelrooy, have all left – the Dutchman has now been fired by Leicester. Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel all left after the arrival of Amorim.

Set piece coach Andreas Georgson was initially retained, but seemed to play a new role in December after Amorim confirmed that his assistant Carlos Fernandes rather focused on the planning of the set.
He explained the change after a collision with Arsenal, said: “Thinking is that Carlos is responsible for set pieces, various things. Andreas is also there to help. That’s it. That’s the reason.
“I think if you follow the Premier League for a long time, you can see that they (Arsenal) are also big players for that. And in every occasion you can see that (Bukayo) Saka and (Gabriel) Martinelli has one against one, they often go outside.

“So we have to be better in that situation, but as in every part of our game we also need time to improve. But in all Arsenal games you can see that every team has a problem with that.”
Georgson eventually left his role in May of this year, while a number of prominent back room figures have also been abandoned in Old Trafford in recent weeks.
