Almost every house democrat voted against a resolution in which the violent anti-immigration and customs enforcement riots (ICE) riots are convicted that caused chaos and chaos earlier this month.
The resolution, introduced by the Republican Georgia Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter, aimed for the riots aimed at federal ice officers, damaged properties and led to the use of the National Guard and the American Marines.
“It is our duty in the House of Representatives to send a clear message to those who harm our local and federal law enforcement: you have no place here,” said Rep. Carter in one press release About the resolution.
“As disturbing images arise from the violent riots in LA, including strangers who harm officers while they wave flags of other countries, we have to make our position completely clear in the congress. We do not support it, we support our ice officers, and we will defend our cities against riots, lawlessness and destruction.”
Of the 212 house Democrats, 195 voted against the measure on Friday, with 75 breaking ranks to support it next to Republicans.
The riots in Los Angeles broke after ice raids in the province that started on 6 June 2025, which resulted in more than 100 arrests of illegal alien beings, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Videos of the chaos contain rioters who threw stones, set cars on fire and attack federal officers. Hundreds of people were arrested for charges, ranging from looting to not wasting. The unrest, centered in the Civic Center of the center of LA, led President Donald Trump to use 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines.
Protests and riots have since been spread to cities such as Chicago and New York, with more planned rural.
