Lidl has issued an urgent product reminder of his harvest basket hash browns in the midst of fears that they can contain pieces of metal.
The frozen breakfast item, sold in stores in England, Scotland and Wales, is withdrawn after the potential contamination has been discovered in a specific batch.
Customers are warned not to eat the affected product because it can form an suffocation.
The supermarket said that the problem influences the 750G packages of Harvest Basket Hash Browns with the batch code 5144L and a best-for-before date of 24 May 2027.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) confirmed the recall in a warning published last night, stating that the product was ‘unsafe to eat’ because of the risk.
Lidl said that notifications of the point of sale are displayed in stores to inform customers about the recall and to explain what steps they should take.
Anyone who has purchased the affected product is advised to bring it back to their nearest Lidl store, where they receive a full repayment, even without a receipt.
In a statement, the Budget Retailer said: ‘Lidl GB recalls the product due to the potential presence of foreign bodies (metal) that can provide an suffocation.

‘If you have purchased the product above, we recommend that you do not eat it.
Speak with the SunIt added: “Customers are asked to reduce this product to the nearest store where a full reimbursement is issued.”
The recall only applies to the affected batch and no other Lidl products are known as affected.

The FSA regularly provides notifications on the recall of products when there is a risk for the safety of the consumer.

The news comes only a day after the FSA has published an urgent recall for various popular Jolly Rancher Sweet Products for fear that they contain a forbidden ingredients related to cancer.

These include hard candy, ‘misfits’ gummies, hard Candy Fruity 2 in 1 and Berry Gummies, all made by Hershey.
The sweets turned out to contain the harmful chemicals mineral oil -aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) and mineral oil saturated hydrocarbon (MOSH).
These chemicals, derived from crude oil, are linked to severe diseases, including cancer, especially in liver and lymph nodes.
This makes the sweets unsafe to eat, especially for a long time, and not comply with British legislation.
The American multinational company Hershey told British supervisors that it has already taken action to remove the affected brands from the British market.
But the FSA warned that some companies still sell Jolly Rancher products that contain the prohibited additive, and have insisted on the authorities to remove them from the shelves.
