Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors jerks as CEO, while his deputy CEO Phil Rogers will take over the top track in August.
Wingefors spun his Swedish Game -Holding Company from the Nordic Games Group in 2016 and he renamed it in 2019.
Wingefors was a controversial leader in the game industry, because he built Embracer Group to more than 100 game studios, to become the victim in the post-Pandemic delay. As the growth delayed, Wingefors had to dismiss many people, sell or close studios.
Rogers joined Embracer in 2022 after Embracer had bought Eidos Montreal.
Wingefors stay with Embracer and executive chairman of the board and he becomes a board member of the Coffee Stain Group.
He said in a statement: “Although the road has not always been straight, I am incredibly proud of the performance made possible by our talented teams, who have created some incredible experiences for gamers.” This new phase enables me to concentrate on strategic initiatives, M&A and capital allocation, which guarantees the continuous growth and success of Embracer. “
And Wingefors said: “I am more convinced than ever that we are still ahead of us. After I have worked very closely with Phil in recent years, I have a lot of confidence in his capacities. I look forward to a continuous cooperation to further strengthen the company and encourage value in the coming years.”
