At the age of 17 she won her first cadet (U17) world championships in the 69 kg class and took the gold in Budapest. A year later, in 2022, in the 2022 Senior World Wrestling Championships, she held in Belgrade, Serbia, to become the youngest American (male or female) to win a senior world championship. A historic final that ended with a 10-0 technology technique saw the American life the championships. A year later the championships came back and won her second consecutive senior world title. 2024 saw her become an Olympic world champion. For the Senior World Wrestling Championships 2025 she was the favorite to go for it. But she has an update. Quite a sad one!
Amit Elor went to her Instagram on Tuesday 10 June 2025 to announce that: “Hello everyone, I am sad to share that For health reasons I will not be able to compete in the last x. I recently found out that I was anemic during the World Team Trials, which were added too much to my current injuries. In the meantime, I am dedicated to work safely on strengthening my wrestling. I am also very enthusiastic to contribute to the wrestling community by being more available for camps and clinics.‘This came after Elor for the first time after the Paris Olympic Games for the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky returned to the mat.

She also wrote: ‘I wish the very best for all the wrestlers who compete this weekend! Whatever happens, I am sure we will have an incredible team that represents us in the world stage 🇺🇸 to my last XCurrent, @Glaudealex, you have this and I will cheer for you! 🫶“
