Judge sets the date to read the judgment in the process of sexual abuse of hockey

London, Ont. – The decision in the process of five former NHLERS accused of sexual violence will be read in court on July 24.

Justice Maria Carroccia, who supervised the tumultuous process, made the decision on Tuesday after previously consultation with the Kroon and members of the defense team.

Carroccia said that her decision will be presented personally in the same courtroom where the eight -week process is currently approaching its conclusion.

Earlier in the procedure, during his final entry, Daniel Brown, one of the lawyers who represented Alex Forenton, accused the complainant in the trial to be at the stand.

EM, as the complainant is known for a publication ban, spent nine days on the stand and answered the crown and five defense lawyers.

“She was not only wrong, she lied under Ede,” Brown told Justice Maria Carroccia and the court. “It should give your honor concerned that she did this elsewhere. You can’t trust what she says under Ede.”

Brown said that EM Loog about her weight to the London police, lied about how often she had been the Jack’s bar for the Dollar beer evening, lied about her drinking habits and her fame with the Delta Armories Hotel.

The closing of submissions, also known as final arguments, is used by the defense and crown to summarize evidence, to strengthen the most important points and try to convince the judge to rule in their favor. Closing submissions are not evidence.

Michael McLeod is accused of two counts of sexual abuse, including one with regard to helping in the violation. Dillon Dube, Cal Foote, Forenton and Carter Hart are each accused of one count of sexual violence. All did not argue with their indictment.

Lawyers for Dillon Dube and Cal Foote is expected to present their final submissions on Tuesday afternoon. Assistant -Crown lawyer Meaghan Cunningham is expected to present the final submissions of the Crown on Wednesday.
