The partnership of this queen, revealed Raducanu, came “spontaneously”, after a few close calls in which she and boulter almost joined forces in Madrid, Paris and Miami.

Asked that it could extend to Wimbledon, Raducanu replied: “We didn’t talk about it. It worked pretty well, so we just keep trying to do as well as possible this week.”

Boulter joked: “Delete what she said – we’re going for the Wimbledon title! No, I’m just joking.”

“I was actually very nervous before the competition,” said 2021 US Open Champion Raducanu, who takes on the Spanish qualification Cristina Bucsa on Tuesday afternoon in her opening match.

“I don’t know if you could see it, but yes, probably more nervous than the singles, because I just didn’t know what to do.

“I am really happy that once came there, Katie made me feel so comfortable, and I am just so happy to win.”

Emma Raducanu confessed that she was ‘very nervous’ before she made her Queen’s Club debut with Doubles partner Katie Boulter after the British couple won a 6-4 6-2 victory over Wu Fang-Hsien and Jiang Xinyu.

Raducanu had played double before this, together with Clara Tauson in round in the round of the 2022 Washington Open, and next to Boulter was fully supported by the home crowd on the overcrowded and more intimate court.

The WTA 500 event marks the first time in 52 years Queen’s has organized Domestennis, and while combining the British number one boulter and number two Raducanu was not completely ready to submit their submissions to Wimbledon, there were hugs and fist pumps intense when they had their grass jurid seasons on the road.

The Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia came from a set to beat the former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and to reach the second round of the new WTA 500 event in Queen’s Club.

After a 52-year-old gap since the last top lady event was held in the London Grasscourt Club, it was appropriate that Wimbledon winner Kvitova opened the procedure twice in a court named after former British Wimbledon champion Andy Murray.

After an impressive start on the Pristine Center Court Lawn for a large crowd, the Czech was unable to keep her younger opponent who prevailed 2-6 6-4 6-4.

Kvitova, who won her titles in the All England Club in 2011 and 2014, made her comeback of a 17-month pregnancy interruption in February and gained access to the tournament via a protected ranking.

“Certainly (Petra) is won from the best players on this surface and it is a privilege to be here,” said Haddad Maia.
