Gasperini leaves Lookman’s Atalanta, takes over when the new head coach of Roma

AS Roma has announced the appointment of Gian Piero Gasterini as their new head coach, with a contract until June 2028, where he will work with consultant Claudio Ranieri.

The decision had already been made last week, but was only officially made this afternoon with a statement.

“AS Roma announces the appointment of Gian Piero Gaskerini as the new head coach of the club,” said Roma.

“The career of Gasperini is determined by its creative tactics, dedication to hard work and exceptional players’ development.

“Both ownership and Claudio Ranieri believe that Gasperini is the right man for the mission.

“Welcome to the club sir!”

Gasperini had spent nine extraordinary years with Atalanta, where he won the Europa League with breathola lookman who scored a hat trick in the 3-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen in the final.

Gasperini also helped Atalanta de Coppa Italia final, the quarterfinals of the Champions League, and insured the qualification for the Champions League five times in seven seasons.

Ranieri had been an instrumental part of the decision to rent, after he decided to retire at the end of this season after sending the Giallorossi to fifth place in the Serie A.
