Kiya Harvey missed her entire Prom after her dress from the local designer Rocky Boston was never completed.
What a magical night for high school kiya Harvey had to be, turned out to be a huge disaster: her family spent thousands on a designer Prom dress that she never got to wear.
Two years of savings are in the drainage for the Teenage family, who paid the local designer Rocky Boston in Houston to make Kiya’s dream dress for her big night. Mother Kewana Jones Harvey demands an apology and explanation from the designer for ruining a night I have been looking forward to since the 7th class.
“It was as if we put so much into that specific day Make sure everything was perfect for her“Said Jones Harvey. That included $ 8,000 in extra costs, apart from the adjusted dress for which they paid around $ 2,500. Kiya and her mother went to fittings with Boston since their order process began in August 2024. Instead of receiving the adapted dress after the adjustments of small rejections, Kiya missed her entire promotion.
Prom Night arrived – and still no dress. “We come to 5 hours, everyone goes into panic mode because [Rocky Boston] said she will be 5 here. The communication has stopped completely, “said Kiya’s mother. She then hurried to the Rocky Boston studio to pick up the dress herself, just to find pieces of the garments lying around.
“I was more than deeply sad,” said Kiya. They had spared two years to ensure that her Prom evening went as planned. To add more chaos to the situation, other parents waited in the studio when Jones Harvey arrived.
Last week the mother-daughter duo received a refund for the order. Reportedly, other families have also received or informed of a refund, but one family is considering legal action.
The only squeaking sound from Rocky Boston about the case is one Now deleted Instagram message That read: “I would never deliberately ruin someone’s special moment. My heart hurts the influence of the girls and families. I operate with humility above pride and always try to continue, because I really love what I do.”
After a Khou 11 reporter had stopped to a closed studio, Rocky Boston replied hours later with a text with the text: “I have no explanation at the moment.”
Leah Napoliello with the Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston and Zuid -Texas warns consumers not to pay a full price for their adapted PROM dresses. Instead, she orders not to pay more than half the price in advance and the rest after the dress is completed. She advised to write everything and have a contract. According to Napoliello, Rocky is Boston not accredited With the organization.
