The organized team activities (OTAs) of Minnesota Vikings have been settled, with mandatory mini camp along the way next week.

A small controversy for the Vikings has assumed a new layer and people will follow it in the coming weeks.

And under various story lines, such as Quarterback JJ McCarthy in the meat, the absence of safety of safety Josh Metellus or limited participation has turned the heads.

But thanks to a video that was placed by the Vikings this week, the controversy might all be for zero.

Josh Metellus Spotted in Otas -Dideo

Some have wondered why Metellus has not been in the front and in the middle of OTAs this week and last. After all, the man is a team captain and a vocal defense leader.

Thanks to the social media team of the Vikings, however, Metellus was indeed spotted in Eagan.

A content, no holdout, or not?

It is unclear what happens with the contracting situation of Metellus. However, it is clear that Metellus has not shown a prominent role in OTAs, which can be expected from a team captain.

Metellus was not seen in Eagan last week, which led to theories about a holdout. The video evidence is directly contrary to that theory, and if there is something, in theory, in theory, a maneuver can hold by players to show support for their team while still filling a new contract.

Contract gradient after 2025

Why is Metellus’s contract in the first place a storyline? Simple – 2025 is the last year of his deal, and he earns $ 4 million per season.

Defensive coordinator Brian Flores Used Metellus everywhere in the damn place in its system, which means that the average annual value of $ 4 million is rather pedestrian according to NFL standards.

Metellus should probably be paid closer to $ 8-10 million annually, and if he was not in Eagan at OTAs, he would have the right to request an extension. The here and now is the organic time for the copper of Metellus and Vikings to discuss his expansion.

Metellus needed for the long term

What is more, Minnesota needs Metellus in 2025 and then. Metellus’ Buddy, Safety Camryn Bynum, no longer works for the Vikings, which chases a thick payment day in Indianapolis with the Colts. In exchange, Minnesota promoted relatively unknown defensive back Theo Jackson to Bynum’s Post.

Dan, Harrison Smith, a Vikings legend, will probably retire after 2025. Without metellus, strictly hypothetical, the safety space of the Vikings Theo Jackson and Jay Ward can have next season – and then it is.

All evidence indicate a new deal for Mettelus, with the “when” as the mystery.

Ben is about the situation of Mettelus

Star TribuneBen Gosseling talked about metellus On a recent podcast: “Yes, and we don’t know this yet, but it is easy to connect and think the dots there, okay, this is a man in the last year of his contract. There have been conversations about an extension to this point, and I think there is interest, certainly from both sides.”

“We will have to see if they find the common prizes, but I think there is interest from both parties to continue that relationship, and that he will continue to be an important part of the defense in Minnesota. But from now on that contract has not been done, and I don’t think there is really a lot of money for those contracting, it may not be that they hold it, but the collision of this, I think.”

Metellus became 27 this season.

Goessling added: “And this is still an optional phase of OTA. So you can, you can say:” I will be here so that I can get my training bonus, but I am going to do a part of what I do, so that I do not take any more risk if I have no guaranteed contract that goes beyond this year. And I want to see something. ” So it is one of those things to keep an eye on.

“I am not sure that that is the only reason for that. I mean, I think, I think he is coming back from something, but the razor of the Occam would suggest that the contract is at least a factor in a part of the way he deals with it, practices that we see at least so far.”

The Metellus contract must be completed too long, but in the meantime fans must wonder whether he is “holding” or participates completely.
