President Donald Trump took out Elon Musk on Thursday and said that he was ‘disappointed’ by the public opposition of the billionaire against the radical tax legislation and expenditure law that forms the core of Trump’s agenda.
“Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we want that more,” Trump said in the Oval Office. “He said the most beautiful things about me, and he did not personally say bad about me, but I am sure that will be the next. But I am, I am very disappointed in Elon. I helped Elon a lot.”
Trump also claimed that Musk’s days of sizzling attacks on the bill were motivated by the proposed elimination of tax credits for consumers for electric vehicles. Musk, the CEO of Maker Tesla of electric vehicles, has said that he opposes the bill because it will increase the federal shortages.
Trump suggested that Musk, who received a praise-filled filling of Trump last week after he supervised his federal bureaucracy-costing campaign, was upset because he missed the work for Trump.
“He’s not the first,” said Trump. “People leave my administration … then they miss it so badly at some point, and some of them embrace it and some of them are actually getting hostile.”
While Trump spoke, Musk wrote on X, “Slim Beautiful Bill for the Win”, a reference to the official title of the bill, the “Big Beautiful Bill Act”.
Musk followed that with another post and said he was in order with the cutbacks on credits for electric vehicles, as long as Republicans removed what he called a “mountain of disgusting pork” in waste spending expenses.
Musk came to the government with brutal plans to cut $ 2 trillion out of the federal budget. He left much less last week than that, after he had cut about half of 1% of the total expenses.
Musk has been a powerful Trump fellow who spends almost $ 300 billion to stimulate Republicans in the 2024 elections and then supervise the Ministry of Government Efficiency of Trump.
His work that eliminated thousands of federal jobs and billions of dollars in foreign aid and other programs caused disturbance in federal agencies, while widespread protests were led to Tesla stores in the US and Europe.
Shares of Tesla extended losing after Trump’s criticism of Musk. The stock was almost 6%lower lately; It was eliminated by 3% before Trump spoke.
