A young woman has warned against ‘over -cool’ lip fillers to the point that they need to resolve the substance – after a procedure to reverse her filler resulted in the deforming of swelling that looked ‘like a Bratz pop’.
Kimia Awazi, 24, from the Netherlands, regularly received injections of filling into her lips and nose since she was only 18 years old.
However, when she started to notice the gel -like substance, called hyaluronic acid, migrates and caused problems with her speech, the marketing assistant decided to start again and to undergo a solution procedure.
This includes jabs from an enzyme called Hyaluronidase, which speeds up the natural solution process.
For most people, the swelling that takes place after the procedure appears to be fuller for a short period.
But only a few minutes after leaving the clinic in March 2024, the lips of the marketing assistant started to swell uncontrollably due to a serious allergic reaction caused by an excess of the solvent.
She said, “I spent years solving and refilling, but it was just a waste of time and money.”
Mrs Awazi claimed that the practitioner had injected 3 ml resolving agents, instead of the standard 1 ml, which caused the serious reaction.

Her lips started blowing up as soon as she left the clinic, so big ballooning that they were similar to that of a popular ‘Bratz’ image.
The serious reaction took about 24 hours, for what time Mrs. Awazi had trouble talking, eating and drinking.
The swelling eventually came in itself without a medical intervention.
“I always told myself that I shouldn’t go anywhere cheaper, just to save money and this time I didn’t listen,” Mrs Awazi explained.
“It wasn’t worth it. Only because somewhere is popular does it not mean that it is suitable for you. ‘
After a six -month break of cosmetic tweaks, Mrs. Awazi finally returned to Lip filler, but says that her limit is 0.5 ml.

‘Now I am much more careful. I am happy with what my lips look like, and I stay with what I know that works.
“Don’t just risk your face because it’s trending or cheaper.”
Experts have long expressed concern about migrating and lingers in parts of the face instead of resolving it.
Research suggests that injecting too much filler or polluted filler can lead to granulomas, a small cluster of white blood cells that form in the tissue of the body that can cause lumps.
It has also been shown that lip filling solvent destroys healthy tissue and leads to malformations.
If performed by a well -qualified injector, the procedure is safe and effective.
But in the wrong hands, both lip fillers and the pricks that are given to remove them can leave patients permanently deformed, cosmetic doctors told the mail on Sunday.
This is because experts have raised the alarm about a little known side effect of lip filler injections.

According to researchers from Harvard University, the injections can potentially cause fatal inflammation in the kidneys, which have so far been linked to three dead.
They predict that more people can suffer the problem than rather estimated, with symptoms that go under the radar.
Dr. Agustin Posso, who presented the study, said that the ‘alarming’ number ” non -permit or unknown practitioners’ that performs filling procedures drastically increases this risk of kidney problems.
