02 June 2025 (MLN): The Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has considered and approved various technical additional subsidies (TSGs), including RS5.6 billion for the Ministry of Finance as a rupid for the ADB -Final Women Inclusive (WIF) project.
The approval was granted during an ECC meeting that was held today, chaired by the Federal Minister for Finance and Income, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.
It also approved RS1.259 billion for the Ministry of Finance to return unstoppable funds of the wheat seed contact program to the government of Sindh, according to the issued press release.
In addition, RS40.34 billion was approved for the Economic Affairs division due to the revised budget estimates for FY2024-25 for reimbursing short-term short-term credits.
The ECC approved RS1.889BN for the Ministry of Information and Broadcast to erase advertising instructions and cover other expenses.
It also approved RS2.15 billion for the Ministry of Housing and works for further transfer to the Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company Limited for development regulations in the Swabi district.
In addition, RS1.7BN was assigned to the Ministry of Defense for Technological Upgrade of ISPR, while RS1.2BN was granted to the Ministry of the Interior for arranging the 23rd meeting of the Council of the heads of the State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Islamabad.
The ECC also approved RS231,893 million for the Ministry of the Interior and Narcotics to comply with the additional fund requirement of Civil Armed Forces, and RS64M for the same ministry transferred to CDA of the Pakistan PWD.
In addition, RS50M was granted to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to support Pildat for the promotion of democracy with a focus on administration and public policy, and RS90M at the Petroleum Division for the implementation of gas schemes in the province of Punjab.
The committee approved RS100 million well for the Ministry of Poverty Lighting and Social Security as a Grant-in-AID to SOS-Villen Pakistan for children and RS400M for the Ministry of the Interior and Narcotics Control for developmental expenditure under the Sustainable Development Goals Achieving Program (SAP).
In addition, RS2.232M was approved for the Ministry of Rights and Justice for reimbursing funds to CDA with regard to the establishment of district courts in Islamabad.
RS2.75m was also assigned to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training for the Premier’s Youth Skills Development Program and RS750 Million to the Power Division for Development Expenditure.
In addition, RS14M was assigned to the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit Baltistan for employee -related expenditure, and RS294 million to the Ministry of Finance for the merged Ministry of Kagb and Safron.
The ECC also seized a summary of Power Division for approval of a tripartite electricity purchase agreement of 1145 mg Karachi Nuclear Plant Unit-2 (K-2) and Unit-3 (K-3) in Karachi.
On a summary of the Petroleum Division with regard to the Machike-Thallian-Tarrujabba White Oil Pipeline, the ECC gave full support to the project, but gave the case until the next ECC meeting for detailed work by the financial, planning and petroleum departments about the financial and operational modalities of the proposal.
The ECC has also considered a summary by the Ministry of Commerce and approved amendment to Import Policy Order (IPO) for government institutions and their entire commercial subsidiaries.
The ECC has discussed a proposal from the Financial Division and approved for the establishment of the trust of ‘Women Inclusive Finance Support Fund’ under the Asian Development Bank financed women Inclusive Finance Project.
The ECC has also considered a summary by the Ministry of National Food Security & Research to notify minimal indicative prices of tobacco cut (2025) and revision of Cess rates on tobacco for the year 2025-26.
The government’s body discussed the case and approved the proposal with the instruction to the ministry to devise a plan to abolish the existing regime in the future in accordance with government policy to promote deregulation in the crash sector.
The ECC has also considered a summary and approved by the Ministry of Housing and Working for the inclusion of Guidelines Transfer Hyderabad package (PSDP#223) and Karachi (PSDEP#222) from the government from Sindh to Pidcl.
The government’s body considered and also inspected a summary by the financial division, which described the policy for the granting of a honors to the government employees.
