The incident was reported to the Queensland Environment department, which confirmed to the ABC that it is investigating and was unable to comment further.
It has led a warning from Stuart McKenzie from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, who describes the murder of each snake unnecessarily.
“Snakes don’t have to be killed, and there is always an alternative,” said Mr. McKenzie.
“The most important thing is just the snake alone and let our catcher come there … to catch him.“
Illegal to kill a snake
A message on social media about the incident led to a huge response and divided opinions.
A spokesperson for the Environment Department said that it would be “inappropriate” to comment on this specific issue.
But according to the State Act, it is a violation to kill a snake, and this can attract a fine of more than $ 16,000.
According to the department, Queensland is the home base of around 120 types of snakes, of which about 65 percent of them are toxic.
It recommends killing a snake, not only because it is illegal to do this, but because it “places you a higher risk to be bitten if you forcing the snake to defend itself”.
The official advice is:
If you come across a snake, don’t panic. Back to a safe distance and let the snake leave. Snakes often want to escape when they are disturbed.
When they are left alone, snakes are little or no danger to people.

Mr. McKenzie said that people were more in danger to be bitten if they tried to kill a snake.
“People think that … you know, chopping the snake in two is protecting everyone,” he said.
“It actually does the opposite [and] As soon as that snake becomes defensive, it will bite people.“
He advises to maintain a safe distance and let it go further, or to ask for help if necessary.
Commercial snake catchers have a permit to remove and move snakes that are found on the property of people.
More and more snake interactions
As the city expansion continues, Mr. McKenzie said that interactions between snakes and people are increasingly preventing in Southeast Queensland.
His most important advice was that people remain as calm as possible and try not to communicate with the snake.
If it is in the house, Mr. McKenzie advised that everyone would take the house out of the house until someone could get there to help.
“In the time you cost to run outside, find a kick, run back and try to chase behind the snake, you could have got all your family and pets outside at the time,” he said.
“[That way] You do not endanger yourself. You do not endanger your children. “
And when it’s outside, he advises to go inside and close the door and keep pets inside.
“To be honest, it’s that simple,” he said.
