University President George French Jr. said, “We are ready to go.”
Almost three years ago, the Board of Trustees of Clark Atlanta University (CAU) announced that the institution would do construct Three new campus facilities, including a new student success center, and WSB TV Recently reported that the construction of the student center has officially set. It is the first new building in 20 years.
The school announced that the groundbreaking ceremony took place on May 15, and according to university president George French Jr.: “We are ready to go.” When the announcement took place in October 2023, the school stated that the new center would help to streamline resources and programs to support the success of the students present.

The planned center will be available for house advisers and teachers, and will have programs that will help students with their study methods and show them skills about how they can navigate in campus life. Frans hopes that it will help to balance the quantity and quality for students. The excitement of the construction of the center contributes to the fact that it is more than two decades since something was built on the Campus of Clark Atlanta University.
“It is more than 20 years ago that we had the construction on campus. We are super, super excited,” said French.
The costs of the project are $ 12 million and are expected to be completed on time for the students to use it against the autumn of 2026.
With the new building and the school’s reputation, Frans said that there were 48,000 applicants for the 1,200 places available this year.
“Those 48,000 students had an average – that admitted – GPA of 3.71. That is why we had to have such student services for them,” said French. It is a record number of applications.
Clark Atlanta University, a private, historic black university in Atlanta, was founded in 1988 when two separate institutions, Clark College And Atlanta University came together to merge in Cau. Students who attend school work to achieve non -browned, graduated and/or professional degrees.
