Finland located Surgify, a medical technology company that specializes in bone surgery, raised € 7 million ($ 7.9 million) in Serie A financing.
The round was led by Zeiss Ventures, with the participation of the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund). Lednil and Cascara Ventures participated in De Ronde.
What it does
The company’s flagship product, Surgify Halo, is a fabric -specific bone removal system that offers improved protection against incidental soft tissue damage during surgical procedures and makes greater flexibility possible in bone resections near vitale soft tissues.
The company claims that its “halosense” technology makes shorter procedures for the removal of bone possible without jeopardizing the patient’s safety.
The halosense technology consists of a pressure-driven ring with a diameter larger than that of a drilling point.
The ring withdraws when it is pressed against hard tissues (crystalline bone) to a level lower than the cutting edges, the company says that it can cut and shape the Snork of Halo more effectively.
The company will use the funds to grow its activities in the European Union and the US
“Zeiss offers unparalleled experience in surgical technology and a global network, while the continuous support of the EIC and earlier subsidy financing underlines the European Innovation Ecosystem in our solution,” said Visa Sippola, co -founder and CEO of Surgify Medical, said in a statement.
“With this financing and legal approvals in both the EU and the US, we are well positioned to bring our unique technology to more surgeons and patients internationally.”
