King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived in Canada at the start of a two -day visitstar stands.
The king was met at the airport in the capital of the country, Ottawa, by dignitaries, including the new Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, and the first indigenous governor -general of the country, Mary Simon, who is the representative of the King in Canada.
Carney, who was chosen on an Anti-Trump platform in April, asked the King to visit shortly after he became the leader of the liberal political party. At the time, Trump had imposed rates on Canada and was spotting to annex the country.

In a statement, Carney said that the king’s visit was a historical honor that corresponds to the weight of that time.
“It speaks to our lasting tradition and friendship, to the vitality of our constitutional monarchy and our individual identity, and to the historical ties that only strengthen crises,” said Carney.
Carney and the King will hold a meeting during the visit.

On Tuesday, King Charles will read a speech from the throne to open a new session of the Canadian parliament, the first time a monarch has done since 1977, when Queen Elizabeth spoke to the Senate.
It will be a largely ceremonial event, but it underlines a clear difference in how the US democracies differ. Canada is a constitutional monarchy and the king is that of the country head of state.

The speech of the throne is the plans of the Canadian government for the future. Although read by Charles, it will be written by the Carney office and it is expected to defend the sovereignty of Canada Robust – just as the prime minister did on the campaign track.
This is the first trip from Charles to Canada since he was crowned king in 2023. An earlier journey planned for last year was canceled after he was diagnosed with cancer. He has often talked warmly about Canada and his people and calls them “looking outside, big -hearted people” during a visit in May 2022.
