It feels like there have been a few rumbling this season with Atlanta Braves star Second Honkman Ozzie Albies.
There have never been really credible reports, but the rumor mill seems to keep the idea of the Braves that go further from Albies.
The latest suggestion comes from Athlon Sports. They present a trade of Albies for the Yankees for Shortstop Anthony Volpe.
“Advanced statistics have preferred Volpe since his debut in 2023, placing 8.2 bwar on his first 364 games,” Athlon Sports writes. “However, the 24-year-old Shortstop does not always succeed in the eye test, with his .228 career average EN .672 OPs that often make the loyal fan base of the Yankees furious.
“The Yankees were held to Volpe during his struggles, from missed opportunities on the album to inconsistent field. But if the Yankees ever considered moving in a different direction, they would be wise to call the Atlanta Braves about a potential full-ozzie albies swap.”

This season, Albies struggled on the melody of a stroke average of .225.
The second Honkman is still a value. He has left for two years to his seven -year contract of $ 35 million.
Volpe is under team control until 2028.
It is not a perfect match, because the Yankees would not have a clear short stop replacement. Maybe they would go back to Jazz Chisholm to short, which he has not played since 2021.
The Braves could use the short stop and spent a large part of the season with Reisman Nick Allen at that position.
It would be cool to see that two selection framework MLB clubs make such a large league deal as these, but it seems unlikely at the moment.
