Florida has become the second state in the US to ban fluoride from his tap water in a movement that probably RFK Jr.
Governor Ron Desantis today signed the bill, which does not explicitly mention fluoride, but effectively prohibits the minerally by preventing ‘the use of certain additives in a water system’.
The prohibition will take effect from 1 July.
It makes Florida the second state in the US to ban fluoride in drinking water, after Utah had also passed on the measure at the end of March. Their ban came into force last week.
HHS Secretary RFK JR has also called for all the states to ban fluoride, saying that it is ‘no point in having it in our water supply’ and to call the mineral an ‘industrial waste’.
Fluoride was first added to the water supply of the country in the 1940s after studies showed that it could reinforce teeth and reduce cavities – with estimates that suggest that fluoridation now saves $ 6.5 billion in dental treatment costs every year.
But recently, evidence has been put forward that the mineral brain cells can damage and lower IQs. Last year, a Bombshell -american government report suggested that exposure to high levels of fluoride could harm brain development in children.

Disaggonated that he had signed the law, Desantis said on X: ‘Today I was in Dade City to sign SB700, which, among other things, prevents local authorities from injecting fluoride into the water supply.
“Informed permission – no forced medication – is the way of Florida.”
During a press conference on Thursday, he added according to NBC News: ‘Yes, use fluoride for your teeth, that’s fine.
‘But forcing in the water supply is in fact forced medication about people. They have no choice. ‘
He claimed that there were other ways in which residents could gain access to fluoride, such as via toothpaste, and emphasized that the mineral should not be mandatory by governments.
“Some of these people, they think they know better for you than for yourself,” said Desantis.
“They think because they have medical training, or they have this, that they should be able to determine how we live our lives.”
The approach of Desantis for fluoridated water falls in line with the approach of the Trump administration for health, namely that all decision-making power to the citizen should fall with limited interference from regular medicine.
This has led to medical mis -crimes such as parents give their children vitamin A as a treatment treatment, only for those children to suffer serious liver damage.
It is not clear how difficult it will be to remove fluoride from Florida’s water, but the mineral is normally added to water treatment plants via pumps.

States carefully check the fluoride content in their drinking water to ensure that they do not exceed maximum recommended levels.
Almost all the water naturally contains a certain amount of fluoride, which can choose from Stadswater systems to remove. In Pinellas County, Florida, for example, the natural amount of fluoride varies in the water from approximately 0.15 to 0.50 parts per million.
The step to get rid of the water supply is derived from large health organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Dental Association.
About 100 water systems in Florida add fluoride, although more than a dozen municipalities had struggled with removing the mineral before the governor signed the bill.
Fluoride has been skeptics fed for years by public figures such as Nu health secretary Robert F Kennedy, JR, who has often promoted unproven claims that the common cavity is preventively dangerous.
The controversy around fluoride stems from one Meta-analysis From dozens of studies that show that children who were exposed to higher fluoride content had lower IQ scores compared to those with lower exposure levels.
Proof suggests that the exposure to fluoride above 1.5 ppm IQ can somewhat influence, but water fluoridation in most US varies from 0.7 to 1.2 ppm, without direct link to IQ loss at these levels.

Dr. Chelsea Perry, a dentist in Massachusetts, previously explained to DailyMail.com, which studies that linking fluoride to lower IQs entails much higher levels than that usually in regulated American water, such as in areas with excessive natural fluoride such as Colorado Springs, where levels are reduced from the EPA.
A Rich in studies has consistently stated that fluoridated water reduces the risk of tooth decay and cavities.

In 1956, Newburgh, NY-De Second American City to fluoridate his water that children with lifelong access had 58 percent less tooth decay than in non-gluoridated Kingston.
Even older Newburgh children with partial exposure saw 41 to 52 percent fewer cavities.
Likewise, when Juneau, Alaska, stopped fluoridating in 2007, hollow -related procedures rose 33 percent For children younger than seven, with the highest costs supported by Medicaid. Taxpayers covered these costs because the study focused on patients with a low income.
Poor oral health causes tooth decay, cavities and abscesses and can contribute to chronic diseases.
Gom disorders causes inflammation and bleeding, allowing bacteria to enter the bloodstream. In pregnant women this can lead to premature birth or a low birth weight.
It is also linked to heart conditions, because bacteria can harden arteries, can thicken vascular walls and increase the coagulation risk.
