Very high flames and a smoke column that, despite the darkness of the night, could be observed high in the sky. Part of the Milan Ortomercato was destroyed by a fire that broke out in the night between Wednesday and Thursday 20 March.

One in the morning has passed for two minutes, when the call arrives at the single emergency number: a fire broke out on the fruit and vegetable market via Cesare Lombroso. The flames quickly burn three nearby barns and in the meantime the first firefighters arrive. Quickly, to the first teams, others are added: an hour later, at 2, at least seven fire staff are committed against the post. It is a race by time to prevent the flames from causing other damage.

All the material stored in the three warehouses, which are part of a single structure. Fortunately, according to what reported, there are no injuries or intoxicated. Although, between Lombroso and via Gaspare Vismara, a few ambulances from the Regional emergency agency for Prevention have arrived. There are also various local police patrols. At the moment it is not known what the origin of the fire was going on for a few hours.

Let’s leave here’. The redevelopment of the market for fruit and vegetables
