The water levels in the Krishna river withdrew Tuesday due to reduced rainfall in parts of Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Bridge-cum barages at least eight places were thrown open for traffic as the water flow reduced.

The total release of water from Maharashtra -Reservoirs in the Krishna and his tributaries was 51,948 Cusecs. This was 1,579 Cusecs higher than the release of Monday from 50,369 Cusecs.
For the first time during this monsoon, Maharashtra released 5,500 Cusecs Water from the Koyna Dam in the Krishna river on Tuesday.
The DAM authorities that manage the inflow try to balance the seized amount of water. The Dam registered an influx of 25,478 CUSECs. The Dam has 76.5 TMCFT water or 72% of the full reservoir level.
Civil servants are not seized water in the barrage of the Hipparagi. The Dam registered an inflow of 50,460 CUSECs and an outflow of 49,810 Cusecs. Since the inflow is high in the Krishna, the river is in a free stream, so that the storage is not done during the monsoon period, officers said in a release.
The Lal Bahadur Shastri reserve on the Krishna in Almatti registered an inflow of 42,577 CUSECs and an outflow of 25,000 Cusecs.
The Dam has 97.13 TMCFT water or 78.92% of the full reservoir level.
The Narayanpur -dam registered an inflow of 25,000 CUSECs and an outflow of 3,000 CUSECs. The Dam has 30 TMCFT water or 90% of the full capacity.
