Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique refused to be attracted to comparisons between his Champions League-winning team and the team that previously knew Kylian Mbappe while his side prepared for an icy reunion with their former Talisman.
Mbappe left PSG on a free transfer last summer after a long -term contractsaga, in which he joined Real Madrid in a movement that made Parisians furious.
While at first glance, demonstrably lost the best striker in the world, his departure Enrique could allow PSG to really transform PSG into the powerhouse that we know today prioritize the collective above individuality to create the side that finally ended up waiting for a Champions League title.
Mbappe could have a hostile reception of the traveling PSG fans when he goes to the Metlife Stadium on Wednesday – but Enrique is not concerned with comparing the club’s fortunes with and without Mbappe.
“This is a question about the past and I am not here to talk about the past, I only think about the future,” Luis Enrique said at his press conference for the competition.
Mbappe, who had taken the group stage offside after he was admitted to Gastro -Centeritis in the hospital, was back on the score sheet as a real past Borussia Dortmund.
The Spanish coach acknowledged that the face of his former player Spice adds to the meeting and says that “playing against the most successful team in the world” “is absolutely extra motivation”.
“Playing against Real Madrid will be a special match, there is no doubt about it,” he added. “At the same time we like to play games like this because it means that you have done your job well and that you play in a semi -final.”

He also refused to compare his star right back Achraf Hakimi with Real Madrid’s Tent Arrival Alexander-Arnold, who is related to Mbappe, the Galacticos poached for a free after he had taken his contract in Boyhood Club Liverpool.
“I am not a fan to analyze or compare players because they are of top quality here in this competition,” he added. “But at the same time I have to say that Hakimi is undoubtedly one of the best right backs that I have not only trained, but also looked in my career.”
Enrique was the only manager who participated on Tuesday evening in press strikes, with the press conference of Xabi Alonso being canceled because of the late arrival of Real Madrid.
The winner of the meeting of PSG with Real Madrid will be confronted with Chelsea in the final of Sunday, who secured their place with a 2-0 win over Fluminense on Tuesday, thanks to an astonishing brace of newcomer Joao Pedro.
