Authorities have arrested eight people after more than 200 children who consumed food in a kindergarten in northwestern China appeared to have abnormally high levels of lead in their blood.
Health authorities identified 233 students at a kindergarten in the city of Tianshui, the city of Tianshui, had abnormal levels of lead in their blood, from a total of 251 children who were registered in the center.
At least 201 of the children was admitted to the hospital.
The client of the kindergarten, the aforementioned Zhu, and an investor who was li, were held together with six other people on suspicion of “producing toxic or harmful food,” the state media reported.
Researchers discovered that they allowed kitchen staff to produce food using online purchased paint pigments that were later in charge and were inedible.
Testing revealed that samples of tricolor steamed date cakes and corn roles contain more than 2000 times the national safety standard for food contamination.
The cake, served at breakfast, returned a lecture of 1,052 milligrams per kilogram and the roll, served with another meal, was found with 1,340 milligrams per kilogram.
The rural limit for lead in wheat and starch is 0.5 milligrams per kilogram, according to the Chinese government registers.
A parent told Jimu News-Tabloid run by the state that experienced children of stomach pain and nausea and that some of their teeth turned black.
Food safety has improved in China after a series of scandals, including the discovery of toxic children’s milk from 2008, which undermined the trust of the public and consumer confidence.
Inspections by supervisors in 2022 found that safety problems were more common in the catering industry and agricultural products, according to media reports.
