Wrexham reportedly agreed a club record deal for a Premier League player prior to their return to the championship.
The Robins enjoyed a meteorical turnout by the divisions since he was taken over by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney in November 2020 in a deal that was completed in February 2021.
In 2022-23 they finished the National League season with no fewer than 111 points to seal the promotion to the Football League for the first time in 15 years.
Now they are only one division away from the top flight after two promotions in a row of League Two and League One – which makes them the very first club ever to achieve such an achievement in the top five competitions of England.
Now they seem to get up to make their latest declaration of intent by signing a midfielder who is currently on the books on a Premier League side.
Such a signing could turn out to be crucial in their bid for survival in the championship, which is notoriously difficult to stay in both and promotion to the promised land of the Premier League.
Wrexham reportedly wants to sign a player who appeared in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest

But while Wrexham wants to settle itself as a second side, they want to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien, according to Sun.
However, they struggle to satisfy their desired wages, which are claimed to be around £ 35,000 a week.
Although Forest is willing to accept an offer in the £ 5 million region, a gap in personal terms can undo any prospect of a deal.
O’Brien has made 13 Premier League performances for the Reds since he came to them in 2022 with them from Huddersfield Town.
However, he fell on the city in the pecking order and spent the second half of last season on loan in Swansea City after previous spells with DC United, Middlesbrough and Los Angeles FC.
O’Brien could be the third signing of Wrexham of the summer, after agreing to sign former Liverpool and Leicester Danny Ward on a free transfer.
His arrival came after Wrexham Plymouth paid – who was exiled to League One – £ 825,000 for Forward Ryan Hardie.
Reynolds and Mcelhenney will visit an established Premier League site for the first match of Wrexham in the championship in 2025-26.
They will visit St. Mary’s to take on Southampton, who ended the bottom of the Premier League last season because they only gathered 12 points and won only two games.
