A condolence register is officially opened in the Lagos house of the Late Super Eagles legend, Prince Peter Rufai (aka: Dodo Mayana) while tribute continues to flow in from Nigeria and beyond.
The register, opened by the Rufai family, is available for friends, former teammates, fans and benefactors to express their respect and leave genuine reports in honor of the iconic keeper, who died in the early hours of Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the age of 61.
Family members in the home welcomed early visitors and expressed appreciation for the outpouring of love and solidarity that the public has shown since the news about Rufai’s death.

The condolence register will remain open daily for the time being, so that people from all layers of life can honor the memory of Rufai and share their personal reflections.
Rufai, who was the first FIFA World Cup goalkeeper of Nigeria on the FIFA World Cup 1994 in the US and a key figure in the Afcon Triumph of the Super Eagles, is mourning as one of the country’s largest football ambassadors. His death has tribute to the tribute of football managers, former international teammates, government officials and fans around the world.
The family of Peter Rufai has previously issued a statement in which Nigerians at home and abroad were thanked for their overwhelming support and noted that funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
