Ester bloomDeputy editor -in -chief of CNBC Make It, has left the site for personal finances.
Bloom Was almost nine years at CNBC, starting in the early days of Make It in 2016 as a senior editor. During that time she led the money team, the largest vertical and contributors of the site.
In 2019, she helped plan and launch the CNBC Select e-commerce initiative, since she had a lucrative independent ownership and conceived his name.
From 2019 to 2022 she served as deputy editor -in -chief of the Personal Finance Site Grow, a collaboration between CNBC and the Acorns of Financial Wellness Company. She supervised a team of 22 and grew by 6,000% of 6,000% in three years. In 2022 she returned to make it as a deputy editor, who supervised the daily editorial activities. She helped the site to touch new traffic records and to branch to online courses, live events and TV.
In 2022, she was named future digital leader by the NBC News Group and received the Ignating Potential Award for Excellence in Mentorship from Big Brothers Big Sisters NY in 2023.
Earlier she was an editor at Personal Finance Site The Billfold, a contributing writer to the Atlantic, and a consultant for financial institutions. Her work has appeared in publications such as Slate, Salon, De Gier of New York Magazine, Flavourwire, The Nation, Talking Points Memo, Dame Magazine and Refinery 29. She was interviewed on MSNBC, Mtv.comHuffpost Live, WPIX 11 Morning News, The Geraldo Rivera Show, Popaganda Podcast from Bitch Magazine, Vice’s The Business of Life and Slate’s United States of Debt Podcast.
She also worked for four years in communication, development and high-level programs at a non-profit organization of art and culture in NYC.
Bloom graduated from Swarthmore College, where she received a creative writing price. She has received writing fairs and residences in Europe and the US, as well as the literary creative non-fiction prize of the dog, and she was a grand winner of the NPR game show “Ask Me Another”.
