Austrian GPs secures contract extension until 2041

The Austrian Grand Prix has signed a new contract extension to stay on the F1 calendar until the end of 2041.

After being back on the F1 calendar since 2014, the Austrian general practitioner has been proven to be one of the most exciting races on the calendar with many controversial inhalentations and collisions – including the collision of Max Verstappen with Lando Norris in 2024.

F1 bosses therefore decided to grant the race a 16-year contract extension that will keep it on the calendar until the end of the 2041 season.

F1 President and CEO, Stefano Domenicali has welcomed this renewal while trying to the co-founder of Red Bull, Dietrich Mateschitz for investing in the revival of the race, brought the circuit and renamed the Red Bull Ring with investments in modern facilities.

“Austria has long been an incredibly special race for Formula 1, so it is fantastic that we have protected the future of a Grand Prix in the long term that is so deeply rooted in the history of sport.

“The vision and passion of Dietrich Mateschitz gave the race the investment and attention so that it could return as an incredible event on the Formula 1 calendar.

“Every year returns to the beautiful styric mountains is a highlight – an experience that evokes incredible emotion among our drivers, teams and fans, creating an atmosphere as no other.”

“I want to express my sincere thanks to Mark Mateschitz and Thomas überall and his team for their relentless
Dedication to excellence and to our incredible Austrian fan base, whose enthusiasm and loyalty continue to increase this iconic race. “

The son of Mateschitz, Mark, added that he is’ pleased ‘to see that F1 is committed to a long -term renewal, which continues his father’s legacy while he was able to preserve the rich history of motorcycle races in Styria and at the Red Bull Ring – with and especially for the people in the region’.

“The narrow ties of Austria with Formula 1 are an excellent basis for our long -term partner. We will continue to work with this success story for many years.”
