The Surge and Optic Texas from Vancouver went on to the grand finale of Sunday of the $ 2 million Call of Duty League Championship in Kitchener, Ontario.
Optic Texas wiped the Boston Breach 3-0 on Saturday in the winner-bracket final. The Surge of Vancouver won three games on Saturday and worked through the elimination rounds.
The top eight teams from the regular season of the Call of Duty League qualified for the double elimination event that the Black OPS 6 competition of the season is selling.
All competitions are the best-of-five to the best final on Sunday. The champion team earns $ 800,000.
Optical Texas only needed three cards and defeated Boston 250-73 at Kluishardpoint, 6-1 on protocol search and destroyed and 3-2 on Hacienda control. All four players of Optic Texas had positive differentials from Kill-Death, led by the American Mason “Mercules” Ramsay with 77 kills and a plus-34 KD differential, and Canadian Brandon “Dashy” Otell with 61 kills and a Plus-27.
The Surge of Vancouver started the day with a 3-0 sweep from the Toronto Ultra in Elimination Round 2. Victories came on Kluishardpoint (250-235), Protocol search & destruction (6-4) and vault control (3-0).
Travis “Neptune” McCloud of the United States led the road for the wave with 75 murders and a plus-22 kd differential.
Also in Elimination Round 2 the Miami-Ketters wiped the Atlanta Faze 3-0 and won 250-233 on Skyline Hardpoint, 6-3 on Protocol Search & Destroy and 3-0 on protocol control.
David “Renkor” Isern had 64 kills and a plus-16 kd differential, and teammate Diego “Super” Escudero of the All-Spanish Heretics had 54 murders and a plus-15.
The increase then met the heretics in elimination round 3 and appeared with a dramatic 3-2 victory. Vancouver won 250-242 at Vault Hardpoint, suffered a 6-3 setback on the dealer search and destroyed, won 3-1 on protocol control, fell 250-193 on Hacienda Hardpoint and triumphed 6-5 on Red Card Search & Destroy.
Three of the heretics had positive KD differentials, led by “Remor” Isern with 111 kills and a plus-36. None of the Surge players was in positive points, with “Neptune” McCloud the best on 93 murders and 95 dead.
Another struggle appeared in the elimination final, where the rise defeated the infringement by 3-2. Vancouver opened a 250-235 victory over Red Card Hardpoint, dropped a 6-2 outcome at Rewind Search & Destroy and then drew a 3-0 win over Vault Control. Boston equalized the match with a 250-188 victory over Skyline Hardpoint, but Red Card Search & Destroy was the game of the Surge on 6-2.
McCloud again delivered with 98 kills and a plus-12 kd differential. The Eric “Snoopy” Perez of Mexico’s infringement had 102 kills and a plus-14.
