Xiaomi Corp Xiaacy Xiacf Unveiled the first fully electric SUV of the company, the YU7, as a rival of Tesla Inc. Tsla Model Y.
What happened: Xiaomi went to the Chinese social media platform Weibo to announce that it had received more than 289,000 orders for his YU7 SUV on Thursday, after the company said that it received more than 200,000 orders in just 3 minutes.

The YU7 is available in three variants: Standard, Pro and Max. The SUV sells for around 253,500 RMB or around $ 35,000 for the standard variant. The max variant of the range comes in at around 329,900 RMB or more than $ 46,000.

The basic standard variant undermines the Tesla model Y, which was the best-selling SUV in China, with 10,000 RMB or $ 1,400. It offers a claimed reach of 515 miles on one load. The Max variant offers AWD and a claimed reach of 472 miles with NMC batteries.
Why it matters: Xiaomi’s SUV comes in when the China’s EV -Prize War shows little signs of extending, with different manufacturers who offer aggressive discounts to increase sales.
