The Minnesota Vikings have renewed their cornerback room out of season this season, because Stephon Gilmore and SHQ Griffin have not remained signed. Instead, it will be a combination of Mekhi Blackmon, Isaiah Rodgers and Jeff Okudah that corresponds to the opponents.

Griffin was a potential target, because the Vikings could use another reliable veteran cornerback. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks, but there are some other candidates about it.

Rasul Douglas

Douglas turns 31 in August and he comes out a slow year according to his standards. The bills continued after two seasons. He brought his career new to Green Bay after he became a travel man in the years before and struggled to find a job in 2021.

With the packers, however, Douglas was a solid start corner in football. He is clearly beyond his Prime, but he could give the Purple Squad experience in the secondary. Maybe Brian Flores could press him out for another year.

Stephon Gilmore

An old friend, if insurance is needed for the unproven projected starters, why don’t your Gilmore sign again? About the fact that he is beyond the first, Gilmore is certainly no longer the eternal Pro Bowler and even the defending player of the year candidate that he was a few years ago, but he was solid in his only season in Purple.

The 34-year-old thought about retiring earlier this season, but he may be open to playing another year in a familiar environment.

Mike Hilton

Cincinnati Bengals Cornerback Mike Hilton (21) takes a photo with fans before the Bengal opposite the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday 27 October 2024 at Paycor Stadium.

Hilton is 31 years old and just like the other players on this list, it is not becoming younger. Yet the Vikings should think about calling him. He has been one of the most important final defenders in football for almost a decade and his blitzing bravery can be intriguing to Flores.

Adding the veteran would virtually force the Vikings byron Murphy Jr. play on the outside, what they may not want to do.

Jack Jones

Jones, 27, was released in April by the Raiders. He started his career with the Patriots, where he played a few seasons until he was released surprisingly in November 2023. The rest of that season and last year Jones played in Las Vegas.

Prior to the 2022 design, the Vikings organized him for a pre-Draft visit, and they also placed an exemption claim as soon as the patriots showed him the door, but the Raiders had a higher priority. Now the club has the chance to get it.

Jale’s Ramsey

The first of two trade objectives on the list, Jalen Ramsey, could be moving again. He and the dolphins agree that it’s time for a divorce. Ramsey is 30 years old, but he was still one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL last season.

The obvious disadvantage is his huge contract and the fact that he would cost something through trade. Yet it would be the biggest possible splash and it would strengthen the super bowl ambitions of the franchise.

Asante Samuel Jr.

Samuel Jr. Has been completely available out of season. His shoulder is a real concern in the NFL, because his play level suggested that his free desk would not last long. Some even thought he was one of the best CBS in the free desk.

This late in the low season is Samuel Jr. Maybe a real bargain, and at the age of 25 he is the youngest player here.

Tariq Woolen

Another trade candidate. Woollen was not made publicly available by the Seahawks, but he clashed with the coaching staff last season and was briefly gained. Now that the Seahawks Griffin have signed, Woollen could possibly be a trade option in the last year of his Rookie deal.

Again, the trading costs would be stuck, but Woolen just became 26 and could be a starter for several years.
