The 72 clubs in the English football competition will eagerly await the release of the matches for the 2025-26 season.
The start of the new campaign is barely five weeks away for clubs in League One and League Two, and only a little longer for those in the championship, and the excitement will be able to start as fans of teams in the EFL start mapping the season.
Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton will all be looking for an immediate return to the Premier League, while Wrexham will certainly attract a lot of attention after the promotion of last season of League One left them at a moving distance from the top flight.
In the third level, Luton should avoid sliding further into the divisions after back-to-back relegations, whereby Plymouth and Cardiff also have to adapt to life in League One.
Barnet and Oldham are back in the football competition after the promotion from last season to League Two, to replace Carlisle and Morecambe.
When are the EFL luminaires released?
The EFL will release the matches for the 2025-26 campaign today, Thursday 26 June 2025.
The official unveiling for the competitions is set at 12.00 BST.
The championship starts during the weekend of 9-10 August, with League One and League Two starting a week earlier on 2-3 August.
For the 24 Championship clubs, the 46 league matches are played for 33 weekends, nine midweek and four holidays.
Only five midweek sets of competitions are planned for League One and League Two Clubs.
The last games of the regular season are played on 2-3 May before the play-offs start.
