Turmeric is a beautiful herb with so many benefits. I like to use it in cooking, natural beauty recipes, and especially this refreshing lemonade! We keep this turmeric -limonade on hand as a festive drink for summer barbecues, park picnics and friends who just come by.
Easy turmeric lemonade
We usually know turmeric as a cornerstone of Indian cuisine and currymoeders, mustard and more. Unfortunately, many of the food to which I like to add turmeric, such as soups, stews and warm golden milk, are not so good in warm summer weather.
This recipe for turmeric lemonade is the ideal solution and a favorite with the family. I have often made it for the children so that they can rehydrate while playing outside and spending days on the beach. It is incredibly easy to make and tastes great!
The turmeric offers a beautiful color, but the earthly taste is usually hidden by the tongs of the lemon. I like to use Liquid Stevia to sweeten this, although any natural sweetener would work. Honey or maple syrup are some wonderful options!
Advantages of turmeric

- If you do not consume all of this in one go, make smaller batches by cutting the recipe in two or even fourth. I prefer Stevia to keep the sugar content low, but any natural sweetener such as maple syrup or honey works well in this recipe.
- Caution: Turmeric does stain surfaces.

Optional flavor increases:
- Add a few thin slices of fresh ginger before you mix

- Try to add sparkling water after mixing for a carbonated version
- Use lime juice instead of lemon or orange juice (use 1 cup of orange juice and reduce the water with 1/2 cup).

Why drink it immediately?
Turmeric tends to settle and the fresh lemon juice can oxidize over time. The crushed ice also melts quickly, dilute the taste and changing the texture. Enjoy immediately for the best taste and benefits.
How to save it
If you have to make this ahead, keep the lemonade in an airtight container in the fridge and shake or stir well before drinking. It is best consumed within 24 hours.

Adjust the sweetener to taste. Start with a little and increase if necessary, depending on your preference or the sharpness of your lemon.
