Witte Huis Pers Secretary Karoline Leavitt demanded that CNN introduced a story on Sunday that claimed that Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and Houseem leader Hakeem Jeffries was not informed about President Donald Trump’s strike in Iran.

Trump launched “Operation: Midnight Hammer” on Saturday and hit three of Iran’s most important nuclear facilities in a surprise attack. The White House later announced the success of the attack that night.

CNN reported that house speaker Mike Johnson and Senate majority leader John Thune, both Republicans, were aware of the strikes in advance, with Schumer and Jeffries, both Democrats, who only received the public announcement and well after the attack.

Leavitt called the report “Fake News” on X.

“This is fake news. The White House caused two -fold courtesy to call for congress leadership and spoke with @schumer before the strike. @Repjeffries could only be reached afterwards, but he was introduced.

Fox News Digital reached the offices of Schumer and Jeffries for comment.

The CNN report added that Senator Mark Warner, D-VA., And Rep. Jim Himes, D-CT., Who are members of the intelligence committees in the Senate and the house, respectively, were only told after the strikes.

CNN did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Both Schumer and Jeffries released statements during the weekend in which Trump is convicted of the strikes on Iran.

Although both Trump criticized for not searching for conference authorization for the attack, they did not claim that they were not informed or informed before the actual strike.
