Jessica Ross and Treveon Taylor are the parents of a baby who was beheaded during the birth and whose autopsy was later placed on social media without their permission.
A jury from Fulton County has awarded $ 2.25 million to the grieving parents of a baby who was beheaded during a traumatic delivery and whose autopsy was later shared online without their permission. Treveon Taylor and Jessica Ross, Baby Isaiah’s parents, receive $ 2 million in compensatory damage and $ 250,000 in punitive compensation after their court case against Dr. Jackson Gates and medical diagnostic choices in Atlanta.

The videos that have been placed online would reportedly see “in graphic and creepy details” images of the severed head and body of the baby.
According to the court case, Gates has a history of sharing autopsy content on social media, and he defended his actions in an interview in March 2024 and stated: “I did not violate hipaa. It is not required by a doctor to get permission to report a crime or a kind of health problem to the public.”
Taylor and Ross issued a cease-and-main letter in August 2023 and filed their lawsuit a month later.
Ross and Taylor have also brought a separate lawsuit against Southern Regional Medical Center and midwife Tracey St. Julian.
The suit claims that excessive violence was used during delivery, which led to the decapitation of Isaiah.
As mentioned earlier, Ross had asked for a C section while the baby was still viable, but was said to be told to keep pushing for three hours before a C section for emergency situations was performed too late.
Clayton County’s medical researcher ruled the baby’s death as a murder in February 2024 and quoted cervical spinal fractures caused by ‘actions of another person’.
Southern Regional and St. Julian have denied misconduct and have not responded to recent requests for comments.
