LSU is looking for its second National Men’s College World Series Championship in three years and the eighth general.

Coastal Carolina wants to expand his 26-game winning streak and win his second MCWS title.

The no. 6 seed tigers (51-15) and the no. 13 seed chantic leather (56-11) are heavyweights that opens their best-of-three champion series in Omaha, Neb.

“Two worthy opponents in the College World Series,” said LSU coach Jay Johnson on Friday and added that Coastal Carolina “is probably the best team we played this year.”

“It will be for excellent baseball,” said Johnson. “I think if you are in the NCAA tournament on this point, you have been tested through the battle. I do not believe there is something that we have not seen. What I mean that is a high-level pitching, high-level bullpen, defense at high level, violations with speed, strength, skills, knowing how to play the game, the attack moving.”

Both teams have implemented three games to win their brackets and have been eliminated since Wednesday. But Johnson has more flexibility with his starting pitching than Coastal Carolina coach Kevin Schnall as the series starts.

On Friday Johnson would not mention his starting pitcher for game 1, but both top two starters are available. Ace Left-handy Kade Anderson has not thrown since last Saturday when he threw seven innings in a 4-1 win against Arkansas.

First-year host Anthony Eyanson only threw 44 lines on Monday evening before the rain caused the suspension of a 9-5 victory against UCLA, which was completed on Tuesday. Johnson used four pitchers, but did not need Andon or Eyanson on Wednesday evening in a 6-5 victory against Arkansas.

Schnall said that he would start right-handed Cameron Flukey, which threw four innings into relief, allowing two hits and two points to allow, in the 7-4 opening of Coastal Carolina against Arizona on 13 June.

Riley Eikhoff (7-2) started the opener, threw 45 throws and started on Wednesday 98 throws in an 11-3 victory against Louisville.

“We have extreme faith in everything we do on both sides of the ball,” said Chanticleers Catcher Caden Bodine. “I think we take care of business on our side at the end of the day and just really respect the opponent. But to be honest, playing Coastal Baseball is the way to win.”

Bodine described “Coastal Baseball” as “just playing a short game, playing high -quality barriers, throwing competitive strikes and just touching in time.”

The Chanticleers have not lost in their two performances in the MCWS. They wiped a super regional at LSU on the way to an undefeated run in the MCWS 2016.
