Push to integrate the Digipin of India Post in important government. departments

Chief Postmaster -General of Telangana Postal Circle PVS Reddy met main secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Friday and presented the integration of the Digipin platform of India Post in important government services to improve the services, especially in rural and disadvantaged areas.

Mr Reddy spoke about ‘Know Your Pin Code’ and ‘Know your Digipin’ initiatives and urged the government to include Digipin into the operational frameworks of departments such as disaster response, health, police, civil supplies and income.

He emphasized the robustness and quoted scenarios such as highway accidents, whereby the 4m x 4m coding enabled by Digipin care providers to determine the exact location when callers cannot describe them, ensuring timely help. With flood lighting, the platform helps the authorities to accurately tag and reach affected households, making targeted delivery of supplies without ambiguity possible.

He touched the continuous co-location of post offices in Gram Panchayats. So far, 1,014 co-location and he asked for further instructions to district collectors to facilitate the relocation of the remaining 4,429. He also called for accelerated land mutation of properties of the postal department.

The main secretary responded positively.
